AI can be wrong

AI can help you explore a question or organize information, but it does not know your full circumstances and its answers are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete.

Why an answer may mislead

An AI system can misunderstand a request, rely on incomplete or outdated information, overlook an important exception, or state a false claim confidently. It may also provide a plausible-looking citation that does not support the point. A clear tone is not proof that an answer is correct.

How to check an answer

  • For key facts, check the original or official source and confirm that it is current.
  • Open cited links and make sure they directly support the claim; do not rely on a citation title or summary alone.
  • Ask what information is uncertain or missing, and compare important claims with more than one reliable source.
  • Do not paste private records or credentials just to get a more personalized answer; share only the details needed.

For decisions with real consequences

Do not use AI as a substitute for a doctor, therapist, lawyer, financial adviser, or other qualified professional. A conversation with an AI does not create a professional relationship, diagnose a condition, or guarantee an outcome. A professional can ask follow-up questions and take your individual circumstances into account.

About the AI-advice notice

The in-chat notice is a general reminder that AI may be unreliable for important decisions. It may appear when the wording of a message suggests that advice is being requested, but it does not determine how serious your situation is or review the AI’s answer for correctness.
